They can change the world

Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year Michael Soskil believes that educators have a responsibility to empower students.

"Personally, as an educator, I believe that we need to empower students, all students," he said in an interview with the Pennsylvania State Education Association. "We want to make sure that they're empowered to believe that they can change the world and they are powerful, too."

"When that culture develops and kids learn how powerful they are, and they feel the joy that comes from doing good for others ... really incredible things can happen," he said.

Soskil's story is featured in one of four new digital ads produced by PSEA highlighting how educators and support professionals are bringing the power of a great education to students in our public schools. You can view all four videos at www.psea.org/ourstory.
