PA lawmakers poised to pass a state budget

PA's governor and General Assembly are constitutionally required to do only one thing each year: adopt a budget.

And lawmakers are poised to do just that today. The budget agreement includes key public school spending priorities, including:

  • A $100 million increase in basic education funding.
  • A $25 million increase in special education funding.
  • A $30 million increase in pre-kindergarten funding.

Lawmakers will return to session next week to work on a revenue package and other budget-related bills.
